Indiangrass Hills

Directions:  From I-80 take Ladora-Millersburg Exit(#211), take V-52 south five miles to 265th St. Go east about one mile to I Ave. Go north about one mile to address 2549 on left. Property is on both sides of road.
Ornithological Significance:  Indiangrass Hills is over 600 acres of privately owned ongoing prairie restoration which is open to the birding public. This outstanding property is managed by a group of conservation-minded folks from Iowa City who, along with their botanical concerns, actively seek to protect the property’s birdlife. Every summer the Indiangrass Hills fields host strong populations of Grasshopper Sparrows, Henslow's Sparrows and Bobolinks. Most years there are one or two sightings of Loggerhead Shrike as well. Annually there are a few American Woodcocks, a species that almost certainly nests here.
