Indian Slough Wildlife Area

Potential IBA

Louisa County

Directions:  4 miles north of Wapello, IA on Highway 61. There are a few access points off the highway. Look for the signs that direct you to parking lots.

Description:  Seen recently at this site were Black-billed Cuckoo and Grasshopper Sparrows. This site has habitat that would support Yellow Breasted Chats also. I did not see one though. More time spent birding at this site will be needed. The habitat at this site is good. There are good thickets of willows and a nice area of grasslands.
