Description:
During the peak of fall migration, DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge typically supports 500,000 or more Snow Geese as well as smaller numbers of Canada Geese, Mallard, and other waterfowl, the largerst concentration of any bird species in Iowa. It also attracts many Bald Eagles during both spring and fall migration as well as many other migrating raptors, songbirds, and other species.
