Goose Lake Wildlife Area

Clinton County  

Directions:  1 mile west of Goose lake on US Highway 136

Description:  The nearly 1000 acres primarily wetland area features yellow headed blackbirds, nesting trumpeter swans, nesting sandhill cranes, great tailed grackles, plus bitterns, moorhens, peregrines, woodcocks, black terns, and 1000's of migrating waterfowl in fall and spring. The site is being studied for it's Yellow head population nesting success rate.
