Jakway Forest

Buchanan County  

Directions:  From Aurora, travel 2 miles south on County Road W45. The park is on the west side of the road. Parking is available on the east, south, and north sides of the Forest.

Description:  The 300-acre Jakway Forest is the largest upland forest in Buchanan County. Although lacking in survey data, pileated woodpeckers, wood thrush, woodcock, black-billed cuckoo, and even a cerulean warbler have been observed or heard in the Forest, and other criteria species likely exist.
