4 miles south of Allison on Iowa Highway 14.
Description:
It is very important to the bald eagles in the entire county. It is a major stop-off for all migrating waterfowl. Sandhill cranes nest here, and Big Marsh has a high diversity of breeding birds because of the variety of habitats that exist within it.
